Founded on 7 October 1919 KLM (Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij - Royal Dutch Airlines) is one of the oldest airlines in the world. First scheduled flights were operated with Fokker aircraft between Amsterdam and London. Until World War II KLM had one of the most extensive route network of any airlines within Europe. After the war the airline restarted its operations using Douglas DC-3 and Convair 240 aircraft.
Today KLM serves an extensive route network to many cities around the world (also in cooperation with its partner Northwest Airlines) using a fleet of Boeing 737, 767 and 747 aircraft together with 10 McDonnell Douglas MD-11s. The first of the MD-11 aircraft - all equipped with General Electric CF6 engines - joined the fleet in December 1993.
All MD-11s are named after famous women and we are proud to bring you this model of "Audrey Hepburn" - PH-KCE, the fifth aircraft delivered in November 1994 and named after the famous movie star - please enjoy!
