AIR CANADA L-1011
As part of the Air Holdings commitment to selling the Tristar, Air Canada ordered 10 aircraft in December 1968, with options on nine more, which were eventually confirmed as six of the longer range L-1011-500 in April 1979. The first Tristar was delivered in January 1973 with services commencing the following month on the Toronto-Miami route. It later operated on a number of higher-density long-range domestic services. With their Tristars modified to the -100 standard, Air Canada commenced transatlantic services in April 1977. The carrier started to phase out eight of the Tristar-100s by the end of 1990, the long-range -500s remaining in service until replaced by Boeing 767s in 1993. We are pleased to release the L-1011-300 in the distinctive Air Canada livery.....because you asked for it!
