Formed in November 1942 as one of three Schwere-Panzer-Kompanien, the 2.sKp/SS-PzRegt deployed with 14 Tigers in support of the 2.SS-PanzerGrenadier-Division "Das Reich" during the Kursk offensive in July 1943. Losing only one of its tanks during the offensive, the small unit was reinforced with nine more Tigers to continue the extended campaign on the Eastern Front.
