The Panzer-Regiment "Großeutschland" started with a small component of nine Tiger I tanks shortly before its deployment to the Eastern Front in February 1943. Reinforced later that spring with with six more Tigers, the newly-renamed 9.Kompanie/Panzer-Regiment "Großeutschland" began the Kursk Offensive of July 1943 with 14 of 15 Tigers operational ... and lost none during the battle.
